Data Deletion Instructions
Effective: 15 June 2026
You can ask Pozi to delete your account and the personal information we hold about you at any time. There's no form to fill in — just contact us by one of the methods below from the phone number on your account.
How to request deletion
Choose either method. Both reach the same person and have the same effect.
Option 1 — WhatsApp (fastest)
Message +255 748 171 722 from the phone number you order with, and send:
Delete my data
Or in Kiswahili: Futa data yangu.
Option 2 — Email
Send an email to admin@pozi.co.tz with:
- Subject:
Delete my data - Body: the phone number registered to your account (so we can identify it)
What gets deleted
Within 7 business days of your request we will permanently remove:
- Your customer profile (name, phone number, preferred language).
- Your saved delivery addresses and any GPS coordinates we hold.
- Your conversation history with our chatbot.
- Any marketing preferences and subscription records.
What we have to keep (and why)
Tanzanian tax and consumer-protection law requires us to retain limited transactional records — order numbers, dates, amounts, payment method — for up to 5 years after the transaction. These records do not contain your name or phone number once your account is deleted; they are kept only against an anonymous internal reference number, used solely for audit and tax compliance.
All other personal data is removed completely and is not recoverable, even by us.
Confirmation
Once your deletion is complete, we reply on the same channel you used to request it (WhatsApp or email) to confirm. After confirmation, any new message you send to Pozi from the same phone number starts a fresh, empty account — we cannot "restore" the deleted data.
If you change your mind
You can withdraw a deletion request any time before we process it (typically same day). After we've processed it, your data is gone and we cannot bring it back — only a new order from scratch.
Questions
For anything specific about your data — what we hold, why we hold it, or to report a concern — contact us at the address below. We respond in plain language, not legalese.
